With Euro 2012 being less than a year away, now is a good time to purchase tickets for the event and make any other arrangements, such as flights and hotels. The biggest soccer tournament in Europe will be played in Poland and Ukraine between June 8th and July 1st with each country having four different host cities. The Euro 2012 Final will be held on June 8 at Olympic Stadium in Ukraine.
The organizers of the tournament held a ticket lottery between April 19th and 22nd for those who had already applied. Winners of tickets were notified at the end of April which games they had received. However, if you were one of the fans who applied for tickets but didn’t receive any, there are still other ways to get your hands on them to see your favourite teams play.
UEFA, who is running the Euro 2012 event, has a platform available that handles official ticket resales. This method allows ticketholders to sell their tickets if they can’t make the games to fans who are looking to buy them. This ticket-selling system is scheduled to be launched by UEFA in July or August of this year (2011).
You may be able to buy Euro 2012 tickets through Europe’s various national football federations. However, be aware that many of these tickets have gone to, or will be saved for VIP’s, making the supply for real football fans quite limited.
You should also be able to find several travel websites that offer special packages to the event. These trips typically cover everything including airfare, hotels, ground transportations, and tickets to various matches.
Another way of buying tickets is also online at ticket reselling sites. There are dozens of websites that specialize in selling tickets for sold-out events and others. These are generally sold by fans who already have tickets and are looking to sell them off. However, you’ll be paying a pretty penny for these tickets as the price is often double the face value or even higher.
Euro 2012 Give Away Tickets
In addition, the official sponsors of UEFA and Euro 2012 will probably be giving away tickets in special contests once they know which 16 European teams have qualified for the tournament. Some of UEFA’s top sponsors include Carlsberg, Adidas, Castrol, Hyundai-Kia Motors, Coca Cola, Orange, Sharp and McDonalds.
The two host nations, Ukraine and Poland, also have individual sponsors in their countries and some of the tickets for the 31 games went to the eight hosting cities. The cost of official tickets range between 30 and 600 euros as there is three categories available for each game. This is about 50 per cent less than tickets for EURO 2008. The least expensive ticket for the final match is 50 euros for a category three seat.
The prices for the opening game are 250, 140, and 45 euros
The prices for group games are 120, 70, and 30 euros
The prices for the quarter-finals are 150, 80, and 40 euros
The prices for the semi-finals are 270, 150, and 45 euros
